Hi!
I'm hoping an experienced traveller can give me some advice!
I am traveling in March and these are the questions that make me toss and turn at night!
1. Cotton or silk sleep sheet?
2. I am spending only one night on a felucca. Is a sleeping bag necessary (in addition to the sleep sheet)?
3. Does anyone really sleep on the felucca anyway?
4. Can I acquire my visa for Jordan at the airport in Amman, or is it better to have it in hand?
5. Is a small rolling suitcase OK? (I'll have a day backpack, so can't wear two backpacks at once!)
Thanks!

Re: Egypt-Jordan Adventure
Hi Puzzled,
Thanks for your questions.
Hopefully I can help you get a good nights sleep.
1. This is entirely up to you. As long as it does what it is supposed to do then the material shouldn't matter a great deal. I have to confess that I have never purchased a sleeping sheet
My colleagues has advised that her silk sheet felt exquisite so we recommend silk for extra comfort.
2. We do recommend that you bring your own sleeping bag with you on this tour and the evenings may get a little chilly in March (though 'cold' is probably too big a word for Egypt!).
3. Yes, people do sleep whilst on board the felucca. Depending on the mood of the group there's usually a little party in the evening but everybody gets to sleep at some point. You'll have time during the day to take a nap whilst you are sailing.
4. It's normally best to pre-arrange a visa for Jordan and I'm not sure that this can be obtained on arrival. Check with your nearest Jordanian embassy about the current visa regulations. They will be able to answer your question and issue a visa for you.
5. As long as your suitcase isn't too large it should be okay on this tour. A backpack or soft-sided bag is preferred but a small suitcase with wheels should suffice. Make sure you bring luggage that you are comfortable carrying with you. You won't have to carry it too often but when you do it's a lot more pleasant if you don't really notice you are carrying it.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Brendan
Re: Egypt-Jordan Adventure
Silk is more expensive, but packs up much smaller than cotton.
