Re: egypt jordan caravan

Hey Rifat,

Thanks for your post.

The weather in Egypt and Jordan is widely regarded as fine all year round. The period in which you are travelling is the winter, averaging 19 degrees Celcius in Cairo and 12 degrees Celcius in Amman. You will need to take substantial clothes when travelling on a tour to the Sinai between November and March as whilst camping in the desert the temperatures will fall considerbaly at night. At this time of the year temperatures can often fall below freezing near Mount Sinai, thus the relevant grading of sleeping bag will also be necessary.

Information regarding weather sits alongside other useful facts and figures in our tour and country dossiers avaliable via The Imaginative Traveller website.

I hope this helps and please do not hesitate in contacting me either in here or at online@imtrav.net should you require further assistance.

Kind Regards,

Robert

Re: egypt jordan caravan

Hi!
I just returned from Nile and Beyond and we also went up the mountain. It was very cold. There was even snow on top! But once you get walking it's not too cold. But definitely take a fleece and a jacket. It's very cold on top, but you can get hot chocolate, and blankets up there.
I think generally you will need warm clothes over there for the night time.
Have a good time.
Nicky

I'm doing this trip in March but not aware a sleeping bag is required from the dossier. Have I missed something?

Re: egypt jordan caravan

I'm pretty sure it says at the end of the trip dossier... Extra things to take maybe? It's along there with the torch etc.
But I would definitely take one. Especailly for the felucca and the desert camp.
HTH! Nicky

Re: egypt jordan caravan

Oh ok. Well, then I would trust what they say as they were spot on in my trip dossier. I was suggesting taking up Mt Sinai only if you had it with you on the trip. Definitely not worth taking it all around Egypt just for the top of the mountain.

Have a good time!

Really sorry for any inconvienience I may have caused!
