Hi Jonathan,

The sleeper train leaves Aswan at 6.30 pm so you have the whole day to fit in the 'very' early optional excursion to Abu Simbel and take in the Philae Temple with time to spare.

Otherwise...

The Nile cruise boat usually arrives at about 2.00 pm in Aswan on day 6. This docks here for the whole night, so in the afternoon and evening there will also be time to go to Philae temple, the High Dam and wonder around the local markets.

Are you sure about arriving in Aswan on day 6 afternoon?

In the trip dossier it says "Day 7, Aswan - Arriving in Aswan early this morning, we have a full free day to explore this beautiful town. Later this evening, transfer to the railway station for the overnight sleeper train to Cairo"

Sorry to be a pain - just wanted to double check.

I am sorry to have confused you here, and you have every right to be so!

The boat does arrive in Aswan on the afternoon of day 6 (not day 7).

The cruise is two days long and on day 6 you will stay in Aswan until the evening of day 7 when you take the sleeper train.

It appears we have an error in the trip dossier. Thanks for pointing it out.

Just to confirm, I am waiting on a reply from our manager in Egypt, but as it stands, what I have said previously still applies.

There are no other errors in the dossier so you can carry on reading it with confidence.

My apologies for any inconvenience.

If Our man in Egypt says anything to the contrary, I will be sure to come back to you and let you know.
