evening activities?

Hello,

We are heading out to Egypt soon and were wondering if anyone who had recently been on a tour that stopped in Cairo could speak to evening activities? Most of the itinerary seems to take place during the day-- are there organized activities at night with the tour group such as the light show at the pyramids, or is that something best planned on our own?

Thanks !

Re: evening activities?

Hi There,

Many thanks for your posting regarding evening activities in Cairo.

To be honest we like to leave the evenings free for your own plans, giving you maximum freedom.
However if there is a particular activity you would like to arrange then i am sure that would not be a problem at all.

Your best bet is to ask your tour leader as soon as you arrive on your tour. They will me more that happy to arrange this for you. They will know when, where and how much it is to do this.

I hope this helps?

Kind Regards,

Amy

Re: evening activities?

Hello Calvin,

I have just gotten back from Egypt.

There are many things to enjoy at night in Cairo & other areas in Egypt. Some of them are as follows:-

1. Sound & Light show at Giza.

2. Dinner cruise on the Nile which includes belly & sufi dancing.

3. Sufi dancing display.

4 Shopping at Khan El Hkalili. Or just enjoy watching the people go by & enjoying the experience.

Plus many other things to see & do.

Have a great time.........Debbie

Hey Calvin, You should also try to get to the Cairo Tower around sunset if at all possible, it's hectic (isn't that part of Cairo's magic!), but it'll be worth it. Have a great tour.Image Uploaded by ImageShack Toolbar

heya,
you could also go to one of the nightclubs around cairo.

tgif's along the corniche is pretty good, plus there's a coffee shop next to it if you prefer to smoke sheesha and chat.

there is also stuff going on at the cultural wheel (arts and culture centre) in zamalek.

Re: evening activities?

Hi,

Just to add that there are also some great restaurants all over Cairo and our groups will often go out with the tour leader to dine together at one of the tour leaders' recommended eateries on Day 1 of the tour (entirely optional). I went to an amazing restaurant in downtown Cairo with a really buzzing atmosphere on my last night in Cairo although unfortunately I can't remember the name or the region! Sorry! Your tour leader will definitely advise you of your evening options once you've met up with the group.

Regards,
Brendan.
