Hi there,

Is there anyone going on the Felucca sailtrek on 24 Oct..? If so, do you think it is imperative to take a sleeping bag??

Sleeping Bag

If your documents indicate a sleeping bag then I would get one -- remember, as you are on a felucca you sleep on the deck on the shores of the Nile River, and down around Aswan you are in the desert and the night temperature can get quite low.

Have a great time. Saw several feluccas while staying on the M/V Melody snuggled in my quilt!

Sleeping Bag

When I went slept on felucca I was very comfortable without a sleeping bag. Due to the length of time I was traveling (I was on the Istanbul->Cairo tour and the Felucca Sailtrek was the last part of that tour) I did not want to bring a sleeping bag for one night. I did bring a sleep sheet and ended up not using it for anything other than a pillow that night.

That said, I was there during June which was the start of the hot season. I'd recommend at least a light sleep sheet in case it does get cool. Some other people on our tour used the shell of a sleeping bag without the liner as a blanket.

Have a great trip!
