Hi, I will be going on the Western Desert Oases & the Nile on May 14 and Alexandria and Siwa Oasis on May 29 tours - anyone else doing these tours (only 41 more days until I leave)?
I am a single female traveling and will have time in Egypt on my own, I was just wondering if women dining alone in restaurants have any problems?
The trip notes mention being able to swim at some of the Oases, what is appropriate swimming attire for these areas?
Is there time on either of these two tours to do a camel ride, other than at the pyramids?
For my fellow Canadian travelers, have any of you had problems getting your visa at the airport?

I have just returned from 16 days on the Beyond the Pyramids Tour. We had a fabulous trip and hopefully I can help you with a couple of your questions.
My boyfriend and I are both Canadians and we had our Visas within minutes of landing in the Cairo airport. It was NO problem whatsoever. 15$ US for a couple of stamps in your passport.
As for a single woman travelling alone. Like Brendan said - if you stay in the busy tourist areas - you won't have any problem, however - there are some Egyptian men that are quite interested in western women and have preconceived ideas to what we are like... my advice.... be firm and loud in rejecting their advances!
