I'm thinking of booking a trip in Morroco and a lot of them seem to start/end in Marrakech. If I fly into Casablanca what is the best way of getting from there to Marrakech, and back to Casablanca at the end of the trip?

Re: Getting to Marrakech
I did this in September, and the best way is definitely by train. It takes around 3.5 hours (allowing for delays), there are several trains a day and a 1st Class ticket costs around 125Dh (US$11). You don't need to book in advance - just buy a ticket at the station. 1st Class compartments are air-conditioned and have 3 seats facing each other. There is a small snack trolley on the train but it takes a while to arrive so buy food and water at the station.
One very good website for train travel is http://www.seat61.com/Morocco.htm .
Re: Getting to Marrakech
Hi Shanne,
Thanks for your question.
This is also something that the Imaginative Traveller can arrange for you. A lot of people choose to book a return flight to either Marrakech or Casablanca and for a small fee we can meet you at the airport in one of the cities, transport you to the train station, book your train tickets and then meet you at the trainstation in the other city to transfer you to your departure hotel.
This is available in both directions and the current prices can be viewed on the following page:

Another option worth exploring first of all is to simply book flights into Casablanca and out of Marrakech or vice versa. Any airline that serves both cities should be able to offer this type of ticket (open-jaw) and the price is often a lot less than people think.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Brendan.
