After having a really awful guide in Karnak and the Valley of the Kings (Mustafa) who might have been quite knowledgable - no doubt about that - but who just drowned us in myriads of details nobody was interested in, I thought I have had my share of bad Egyptian guides. However, our tour leader Julia (who, by the way, was excellent!!!)suggested a fantastic guide for our tour in Cairo to us. He is called Saleeb, was educated in both the States and Europe, and he gave us a fantastic tour through Coptic and Islamic Cairo as well as the Egyptian museum. The latter is a huge collection of treasures but if you do it on your own, you get lost and do not discover the really precious things and the stories behind them. He just picked 15 or 20 pieces which he explained at length and it was extremely exciting. Being an egyptologist, he knew everything about the latest developments and we felt very special that he shared them with us.

His tel.nr. is 5736335 or (012)3431471, e-mail 0123431471@Mobiil.net. If you get to Cairo before your tour starts, contact him and it will be a perfect introduction to your Egyptian adventure!

Enjoy!

Best regards,
Uschi
