Hi,

I have booked onto the Egypt and Jordan caravan trip for 1-16th march 2009.
i have been reading my guidebook on Jordan and wondered if this trip makes a stop at Hammamat Zarqa Ma’in or the Ma'in Hot Springs, as it looks like an amazing place, i noticed this in my book and although it is not in the trip dossier i just wondered if it would be possible to visit along the way, or during any free time?

Hammamat Zarqa Ma'in Hot Springs

Hi Amaya

Thanks for posting on the forums! I will check for you, and we will post again to let you know the answer to this question. As it's currently the feast to celebrate the end of Ramadan please bear in mind it will take longer than normal to get a reply from our colleagues in Egypt/Jordan.

Many thanks
Kelly

Hi, Amaya.
I went on the Egypt and Jordan Caravan in Dec 07. We did not stop at the hot springs. The day that we went through that area was a long day spent on and off of the tour bus. Once we arrived in Amman, we had a total of a 1/2 day free. If you can make it out there and back in 1/2 day, that would be one way to see it, but you'd certainly have to pay extra for this arrangement. If you want to spend more time at the hot springs, then extending your trip for a day or two would probably be the only way to do it.

Hammamat Zarqa Ma'in Hot Springs

Hi Amaya

Actually we do not visit them on our tour but they are near from Amman (about 1 hour drive).
You can arrange to visit these with the TL on day 15 after Jerash or Day 16 if you flying out late at night

Thanks for the help :)

Hi, Thank you for the reply sue.

Thanks Carrie, but I'm already having a day extra at the start of the tour, sadly that's my limit.
did you enjoy the tour?
I guess i will have to see how much time i have when the tour is over and if i have enough time to visit the hot springs, ah well, I'm excited about the trip and there is always next time if i don't get to see them this time.

Thanks again for the help :)

Hi, Amaya.
Your tour leader will be able to just about any activity/excursion that you want to do. Be sure to let him/her know in advance (at least a few days) if you're interested in other excursions and s/he can check on your options.

As for my tour, I have mixed feelings about Egypt. However, I liked Jordan a lot and wouldn't hesitate to return or even live there.

have a great trip,
Carrie
