I have quite a long list of things I want to see in the Middle East. I have found that "Petra, Pyramids & Beyond" covers all of these bar two - Dahab and Abu Simbel. I am happy to give Dahab a miss if I have to but will not miss Abu Simbel. My tour ends in Cairo and I want to do the Abu Simbel trip then. Can I fly to Aswan or Abu Simbel. Are there trips organised from Cairo just for Abu Simbel and if so who do I need to contact to organise this?
Has anyone been to the Middle East in August? Am I going to die of heat exhaustion? I am hoping that I will be so happy to be there that the heat wont matter?!?!

Just looked at the tour. Why dont you do the trip to AbuSimbel from Luxor? Fly. If the cost if $95 from Aswan imagine what it will be from Cairo! We went on the felucca journey in July and we managed well. Very hot but on the nile we had a cool breeze. August would be abit more I guess but you'll be fine. Wish we were going back.
