Hello Avid Travellers!
I'm interested in contacting anyone who is doing the Istanbul to Jerusalem tour on the 11th October, 2000. This website is fantastic and I have accumulated oodles of hints and tips. Also, I agree with Jan "Denomination of money - Aug 25th" and would appreciate any comments on what form our spending money should be in. The Australian dollar has taken yet another dive, and the exchange rate is poor against other currencies.
Thanks!

Re: Istanbul to Jerusalem
Hi,
It pains me to say it, but US dollars are probably your best currency for traveling through the countries featured in Istanbul to Jerusalem.
I reckon that a mix of cash and travelers checks is the way to go.
Travelers checks for security and in fairly small denominations so you aren't forced to change more than you need at any time.
Some cash is also a good idea. Again, in smallish denominations. 5's 10's & 20's.
When I was traveling there was a scare about some bills being forgeries and I had loads of hassle changing 50's & 100's. they're too big anyway for convenience.
