Hi everybody! My hubby and I are going to Jordan and Egypt this October (very exciting indeed!). I enquired for the Visas to Travcour (found in the forum) and they quoted me

Don't know about Jordan, but on my recent trip to Egypt I found it worthwhile to handle my own visa rather than using one of those visa assistance agencies. It isn't that difficult to handle all the forms yourself before leaving, and that way you pay only your mailing costs plus what the gov't. charges. Using a visa agency would have cost me about $100 US opposed to the $15 fee Egypt charges.

You can get an Egypt visa on arrival at the airport. Its simple just go to one of the many offices/banks lined up and pay

Hi guys!Just a suggestion of you would lke to have the VISAs sorted out before you go to Egypt or Jordan or both. Visit these sites:
http://www.egyptianconsulate.co.uk/visas.html (where you can find forms and infos)
http://www.jordanembassyuk.org/ (where you can find the phone numbers to ask for the form to be sent by post).
We paid

I would just like to say that I also got my Egypt visa direct from the embassy. Posted my passport off on Saturday and received it back on Wednesday. Much more reasonable than paying another company to get it for you.

Hey Anna!

I'm Marjolein from Holland, and I'm on the same tour in October! I'm also struggling to get my visa's ready..but they told me from the Jordan Ambassy that I could get it at the airport at arrival...so I'm going to do that. Still trying to contact the Egypt Ambassy though, do want to get that one before going there.
I heard we don't need malaria tablets...does anyone know if that is correct, cause I thought we are going to a malaria-area...

Great to read about other people's experiences on this site! Can't wait to go travelling again!

Hello Marjolein! my hubby and I can't wait to leave for this trip! we booked so looooong ago! I just had my jabs checked by my Doctor: no malaria apparently, we just had hepathytis, thypoid and usual stuff like that. I'd rather avoid Malaria tablets as they gave me high temperature when I took them to go in Amazzonia [Frown]
For the Visas, we preferred to have everything sorted out before departure to avoid delays, but Jordan embassy told me that you can sort them at the airport when you arrive [Smile]
So not too long before we meet! [Big Grin]

Hi. My name is Sarah, I'll be on your tour as well! I've already gotten my Egypt visa (which was so easy to get it was almost ridiculous). I brought my passport to the nearest Egyptian consulate paid US$15 and picked it up the next business day. As for Jordan, I haven't gotten that yet, but my understanding is you can even get the visa at the airport when you arrive, though I will probably get it beforehand.

I guess I'll see you on the trip! Good luck!
