We are doing the Istanbul to Cairo trip and while we will sort our Syrian visa before we leave the UK, timing and what not means we might not have our visas for Jordan and Egypt sorted. We're travelling on Canadian passports - does anyone know if we'll have any troubles getting our visas at the border? I don't want to hold up the rest of our group, but I'm not certain we'll have everything organised before we have to leave the UK. Advice please!

Re: Jordan and Egypt visas
Hi KiltedCanuck,
Thanks for your questions.
Most nationalities can currently obtain a visa on the border or on arrival into Egypt, including Canadians. It is however very important that you double-check for yourselves before travelling that the situation has not changed. The Egyptian embassy in London can be found at:

We generally recommend that you obtain your visa for Jordan before you arrive; I have heard cases of travellers getting these on arrival but on the whole it is normally better to get this before you arrive as I understand it. The embassy for Jordan in London can be found at:

It is always advisable to pre-obtain visas where possible before you begin your travels since this takes away any chance of being refused entry or holding up the rest of the group so in all cases that's our advice.
A visa specialist such as www.travcour.com should be able to assist you with multiple applications should you need to apply quickly.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Brendan
