Debbie - Egyptian Travels

Hope things are going well for you down under in Oz and will enable you to once again travel back to Egypt. I know how I feel about travel -- work to travel so to have ones "wings clipped" is a true hardship.

Take care,

Maureen

Oh Maureen!!!

Many, many thanks for sending me those beautiful thoughts, much appreciated!! We are still in drought, 12 years now & looking like it will year 13 soon. I pray to God in ends sooner rather than later, I have had enough of watching everything we have worked for die, slowly but surely. It is soul destroying & heart breaking.

So I am now allowing myself to once again live in hope & am dreaming that in November, I will once again be on the Nile at Aswan, my spiritual home!!! lol!

I hope that you too, are able to travel soon, as you say having our "wings clipped", is not fun at all!!

Kindest regards.........Debbie

Travel

Debbie, not back to Egypt for my next travel but going with ImTrav to India in November on Sameer's Rajasthan. Another old country but not with great tombs like in the Valley of the Kings or great temples like Karnak. Really enjoyed Saleh Shaalan Mahmoud as our guide!

So Aswan is your spiritual home and is known as one of the driest places in the world. Where in Australia are you that is almost as dry as Aswan? I have been to the Outback - Alice Springs and Ayers Rock as well as to Melbourne and Sydney. You have a very big country! I was there for a month and basically drove around the state of Victoria for a couple of weeks and spent a week in each of the Outback and Sydney.

Take care,

Maureen

Hello Maureen,

I'm sure you will enjoy your tour of India, one of my neices went there on her Honeymoon & loved it. Don't forget to share pics when you return?

Yes Aswan is an arid place BUT it has the beautiful Nile River pouring water at an amazing rate, that we aussie's can only dream of!! Plus those beautiful sand banks.

I'm a Mallee girl from Northern Victoria, but have worked in many places across this wide land. On some of the driest properties you could imagine. I am now located in Central Victoria, near Bendigo, which has been in drought for 12 years & looking down the barrel of 13.

I have travelled much of Australia myself, but have not seen 2 states as yet, the NT & Tasmania......some day I'll go there.

Yesterday we were lucky to receive some rain & can only hope that it continues. We have all become tired of watching everything die, our crops, even big old gumtrees, our gardens, livestock numbers being culled down........until finally all hope dies.

Anyway, I wish you all the best for November,, maybe I'll get lucky & will be travelling too!! All the best..........Debbie
