I'll be on the Nile Valley & Red Sea tour Nov 12, will I need a backpack or will my upright wheeled bag be fine? I don't own a backpack yet, will buy one eventually but would it be easier to have it on this trip?
Thanks
Laura

Re: Luggage
Hello Laura,
I used my backback quite alot whilst in Egypt. It's handy to carry bottled water, camera, films etc.....plus any purchases.
Hope this helps, enjoy your trip.
Re: Luggage
Laura,
On one im trav tour I did some time ago now a friend of mine, who I met on this trip, managed with a glorified shopping bag!! ;-)
She did have a day pack though to carry her water etc through the day. She did curse but managed.
If you are going to take your wheelie case expect a few jokes and not much help on transfers between hotels and transport. In my experience however of Im trav any journey over 500m usually either has tipped help or a "taxi" of some variant or other.
Enjoy building your muscles..'cos wheeling will not be an option.
Greg
... and then there was the girl who took the full samsonite make up kit to North/South Thailand.....
Re: Luggage
Hi, last year I took an IT Tour to Egypt. I took a suitcase with wheels, and a knapsack. Almost everyone on the tour also did the same thing. The knapsack is good for day trips, but the suitcase with wheels saved my back...sometimes had to walk quite a distance. The the wheely worked just fine!!!
