I just read a message on a baord at another travel sight that stated that the luggage x-ray at the Cairo airport is not film safe and that all of this persons film was ruined. I have never heard that before - is it true?

I had about a dozen exposed, undeveloped 400 and 800 speed rolls of film in my bags. The Xray machines did not damage any of them. I also used a couple of rolls of 1600 speed film. I had those processed in Egypt before departure. There is a warning on the box of the 1600 speed film about exposing them to Xray machines at airports.

I took approx 15 rolls of film into & out of Egypt, all developed well without any trace of a problem.
