Meningitis Vaccination

Hi,

Do I need the Meningitis vaccination for my trip to Morocco (Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Marrakech)?

I keep finding conflicting reports...

I'm also off to Morocco (in April)

Meningitis isn't one of the ones that I've had recommended to me. I've had Hep A & B, Polio & Tet vaccinations. Two separate doctors have both commented that they don't recommend the Typhoid vaccinations - watching your hygiene is just as affective.

The other thing about Meningitis is that it may need to be a vaccination specific to the strains in Morocco - you might want to check that if you do go ahead with it.

Unfortunately we cannot give out any specific medical advice so you'll need to consult with your doctor, a medical expert or a travel clinic to find out exactly which vaccinations/treatments you will need to take for your up-and-coming trip.

However sometimes you can receive conflicting inforamtion so we also recommend a travel clinic called 1st Contact who have a free phone number 0800 039 3073.
