1. Nile & Beyond has a trek in the desert on days 12, 13, and 14. This occurs on March 7, 8, and 9 for the Tour that starts Feb 24 in Cairo.
2. Since March is after the winter schedule ( Dec - Feb ) I certainly trust that the trek follows the full Summer schedule and not the abbreviated short stroll in the desert. This trek appears to me as one of the highlights of the tour and is the reason why I selected this tour.
3. I suppose these are the alternatives: [a] the full trek summer route already established ( yeah! ) [b] the group leader shall decide at the time depending upon actual weather conditions on those dates [c] the winter schedule shall prevail even with clement weather.
4. As an aside, I am solo at the Indiana available on the morning of Feb 23 to join other Feb 24 tour members for a preview of Cairo in such places as major museums.

Hi Earl,
Normally when there is an itinerary change due to the seasons on our tours, and the tour departure date, for example, is in the summer then the summer itinerary will be run and the same goes for the winter.
This is also the case when a tour starts during one season and overlaps into the next.
That said however, there may be no problem with doing the trek and keeping to the summer itinerary on days 11-13. As you have also said, this could be up to the tour leaders decision on the weather.
I have emailed our Manager in Egypt who will clear this up, and will be able to tell me exactly what changes (if any) will occur on this trip.
