I recently tried to book a flight with my travel agent for an Aswan to Abu Simbel flight during my March Nile Valley & Red Sea tour and was told that they were all booked up! I was so surprised since I had read here that many people actually wait till they arrive in Egypt to book. I am so disappointed! What can I do?

As far as I'm aware flights are still available for March. If you let me know the exact date you wanted to visit Abu Simbel I'd be happy to look into the situation and report back to you.
It has been known for there to be problems locally with availability, which is why we always advise our clients to book in advance.

First of all, I would like to thank you. I have asked many questions in the past few weeks and you have been very helpful. I really appreciate it!.
About my latest dilemma. I will be in Aswan with a the Nile Valley and Red Sea on March 8th (the day we arrive), March 9th (our full free day) and we leave the morning of March 10th. The only day I checked on was the 9th and was told by two different travel agents that all flights were booked (except a 12:45 flight but then we would have to stay overnight and leave the next day because there are no returns after around 1pm). If there are flights still available on the 9th - great! If not - could we manage it on the 8th or 10th? I wasn't sure and didn't want to try to book it without knowing.
Lastly, do you know anything about the boat that might be available to make the trip? I'd be more than happy to do that.

Hi Kellyann,
I can confirm that flights will be available over the dates you wanted (8th, 9th 10th March) as long as you book in advance.
Flights can be booked through The Imaginative Traveller at the following price:
GBP52.00 plus a GBP25 admin fee.
This price is for a return flight only and does not include transfers or entrance fees.
If you would prefer to travel by coach I can confirm that the Road to Abu Simbel is now officially open. The Imaginative Traveller is offering the following excursion by coach which can only be booked locally through your tour leader. The price will be:
USD45.00 (payment in cash only - USD, Sterling or Egyptian Pounds) Entrance fees (approx. USD10.00) are not included in the excursion price.
