I see that the tour I have booked - Deserts & Kasbahs departing Casablanca on 26th May 2007 is fully booked. Would like to contact other members of this group before departure.
Many thanks

Hi - a friend and I are also going on the same trip leaving Casablanca 26/5/07. Looking forward to it but a little bit nervous at the same time! Any good tips for us?

Hi there!

My friend and I will be on this trip as well. I'm very much looking forward to Morocco. Hopefully it wouldn't be too hot then...

Yes, coming from a NZ autumn/winter I wont be prepared for extreme heat. What are you doing for money - taking US$ and a credit card? Have you been to anywhere like Morocco before, or know of anyone who has recently been there? If so, what were their impressions?

No...Morocco is my most exotic destination to date. But I've been reading up on various trip reports and such - it should be an interesting trip, if nothing else.

I have a friend who was in Morocco for her honeymoon about 3 years back. She had a great time and was very enthusiastic when she heard I was going. Like I said, I am looking forward to it and don't have too many concerns for now.

Yes I'll be bringing US$ cash (seeing that we need to make the local payment in US$ anyway) and also a CC as backup.

I did this trip in September 03 and loved it! It wasn't too hot then, maybe around 90-100 at most down in the desert.

Only tip would be don't drink the water as one girl in our group got sick that way. I have done two other imaginative trips since then to India and Bali. Have a great time!

I'm on the May 26th trip as well - traveling from Florida. Does anyone know what kind of luggage is best to bring on a trip like this?

Hello Jenlen,

How exciting, not long now, i am most jealous!

Deciding on what sort of luggage to take is a tough if you are like me and you have to pack eveything under the sun!

Basically suitcases are not the best on this sort of trip. Something soft and squishy like a backpack or a hold all is perfect. Bear in mind that it might get a bit knocked around and dusty so nothing smart!

I hope this helps?

I've not decided on luggage yet but will likely use a backpack just like Amy suggested. Not too big one though.

Backpacks are much easier to lugg about, good move!
