Im going on the Sailtrek & Sinai tour on November and was wondering how much pocket money should I bring. Of course this will depend on how much shopping I will be doing but I was wondering on the average cost of pocket money (minimal shopping and dining out). Pleas quote in USD.
Also, hows the weather by 1st and 2nd week of November?
Do you provide matts in the felucca sailboat? I was wondering if I should still bring my sleeping bag.
Thanks!

Re: poocket money
Hi there,
This is always an extremely difficult question for one person to answer. Whatever you say is always too much or too little.
I would appreciate it if other people could come in on this and give some opinions on how much they thought was a reasonable amount to budget per day for Egypt. We can then work out some kind of average figure. In the past people have said they've had a great time on 120.00 L.E per day (approx USD30.00) but I'm sure there are plenty of opinions out there.
My opinion is that you should always take more than you think you'll need, if you need more it's there for you if you don't end up needing it you'll have money for more presents/souvenirs and duty free vodka. If there's anything left after that you can change it back when you return.
If you really get stuck there are ATM services in Cairo and other large cities.
In November you should expect ave. daily temperatures of around 25-32C, warm but not ferocious.
The feluccas are covered in mattresses and cushions for sleeping but you should still bring your sleeping bag along.

Re: poocket money
Hi, my husband & I took the Nile Safari last year at the end of October, beginning of November. Temperatures were great...not too hot, but comfortable. We were in Egypt for 12 days and brought along 700.00 U.S. plus about 75.00 U.S. in Egyptian Pounds. We never spent all of it, brought back about 200.00 U.S. We didn't buy alot, but we did not cheap out at all!! As Chris said, bring more than you need, and you can always cash it in...And you never know if you will see something you want to purchase...We did use Visa for a purchase in Luxor where we got rings and cartouches made..they were very inexpensive!!!
