Hello, everyone. I am considering thde Red Sea and the Nile trip with another woman. We are both around 60 and I am used to traveling with Insight and Globus. How will this tour differ? Will we see all the pyramids and historic sites that I am looking forward to? Will our guides be experts on Egypt and Egyptians themselves?
Is this a "roughing it" kind of trip or would the accommodations be rated superior tourist or deluxe?
Also, at the Red Sea, how long is the snorkeling excursion and what kind of boat will we be on and what hotel does the group stay in there?
Thanks for any help you can give me on these questions. We are looking at the Oct. 21 departure date if we sign up for this tour.

Re: Red Sea and the Nile
Hi Lulu9, Can't speak for the people at IMTrav but from a previous travellers point of view who has done the Nile Valley Red Sea tour before(and doing it again in November)I can say that:![[Wink]](wink.gif)
The overall tour leader probably won't be Egyptian, but when you go to the different sites your tour guide will be Egyptian with a very good command of the history of the various sites you visit which are numerous. They now have Abydos & Dendara which is a great addition to the already impressive itinerary. The 7 nights on the MS Melodie is in comfortable, clean accomodation with really good staff on board. The other nights, 1 on a sleeper train is good quarters, and of the rest, they are all (in my opinion) quite good. They aren't 5 star, but they are clean, comfortable and in good locations. So it's certainly not "roughing it" but it wouldn't be "deluxe" either. Red Sea snorkelling goes for a full day pretty much, with about 3 or 4 hours spent snorkelling, and the boat is what I would call a large cabin cruiser. On our first tour we stayed at the Empire Three Points in Hurghada, and last time, a couple of years ago we stayed at the Roma which is in a pretty good location and just across the road from a great outdoor coffee/shiesha house. It's a really good tour where you can easily mix with the locals and enjoy the experience. After reading my reply it sounds like I'm a salesman for IMTrav, I'm not - just a traveller who has great memories of some really good tours, and hopefully more come November. Enjoy!
