Hi Louise,
In May the average water temperature of the Red Sea is 24C, which is great if you want to go snorkelling.
You'll need a waterproof sunscreen to avoid sunburn and you might want to wear a t-shirt in the water to give yourself some extra protection. I don't want to sound like your Mum, but it's easy to misjudge the strength of the sun when you're in the water.
