I am booked on Beyond the Pyramids on the 14th of April and have been reading thatit is quite easy to get my Visa for Egypt at the airport on arrival and have found the Egyptian embassy in London to be quite unhelpful so far? What has been other peoples experience - is it easy to get a Visa on arrival?

Yes there are some nationalities that can obtain a visa on arrival in Egypt. However our policy is that all clients should get their visa prior to their arrival in any destination. The facility that the authorities have in Egypt does not guarantee that you will receive a visa on arrival.
Please stick with it and get your visa before you arrive.

Just going through this myself. You need the Egyptian Consulate, NOT the Embassy.

SW1X9ET
You can do it all by post...
send them a letter asking for a Visa application form (incl. SAE)
Then fill in form (you need photo) and send in with your passport and SAE again. Costs

Just got my passport back from Egyptian consulate, only took 3 days by post.
Amazing, wish everything else in this country
