Am I foolish traveling to Egypt in July/August? The chart on site says its not that bad but BBC weather sites say it can hit 50c. Whats the score?

Re: Too Hot in Summer?

Hi Steve,

As you'd expect Africa in mid-summer is going to be pretty hot. Average daily temperatures (C) for Jul/Aug are:

Cairo: 35/36

Alexandria: 30/30

Aswan: 41/41

The further South you go the hotter it becomes and as you get closer to the equator there will be temperatures up to 50C.

Some people flourish in the type of temperatures I've described above but a lot of people (me included) find them a little bit hard. We combat this in simple ways like keeping out of the worst of the heat during the day and we rarely have a problem with people becoming too uncomfortable.

The Middle East and heat come together as a package and it's nigh on impossible to have one without the other. I wouldn't let it put you off travelling with us at that time of year, a large portion of our clients don't.
