Hello Ru,
Early this morning I heard of the train fire in Egypt, with over 300 people losing their lives. Please tell me no one from Imtrav was a passenger on that train?
What a terrible disaster, I feel for the people involved & their families.
Thanks for everything you do, it is appreciated by many.

Re: Train Fire in Egypt
Hi Debbie,
Hope your well?
The Train fire in Egypt two nights ago really was an horrific thing to happen. So many lives lost, and at such an important time of year when many families and friends are travelling great distances to be together.
Thankfully none of our clients or staff were on that train. In fact, I am told, tourists are usually prohibited from using this particular train as it is more of a 3rd class 'locals' train carrying not just people but various types of cargo which is delivered at every town along route.
Hundreds however were not so lucky and our thoughts and deepest sympathy go out to all those affected by this tragedy.
Best regards

Re: Train Fire in Egypt
Hi Ru,
Thank you for your prompt reply. I have been worried about people I know ever since I heard about the fire. It is a relief to hear that no one I know was on board. Our hearts must go out to those that weren't so fortunate. Their families & friends must be devastated, some may never recover.
Do you think the Egyptian Government will supply aid to those affected? I hope so.
When things like this happen you realise how useless you are living thousands of miles away.
Thank you for your enquiry Ru, yes I am well. I hope all is ok with you & your part of the world?
Once again, thanks for the prompt reply....I can rest alittle easier now.
Best wishes.
Re: Train Fire in Egypt
Hi Debbie,
Yes I'm very well thanks.
As for this part of the world...Well, I look forward to the sun rising a little earlier, and setting a little later in the days as I'm going through cans of de-icer on my car windscreen quicker than anything. I am sure it is just my Street that gets frosty on the mornings??....Role on the Summer!
I am not too sure what the Egyptian Governments plans are with regards to aid for those affected by the train disaster, but the accident has come at a difficult time for the government, which is no doubt battling a slight economic crisis caused by a drastic decline in tourism, since Sept 11th.
Lets hope!
All the best

Re: Train Fire in Egypt
Hi Ru,
Well if your summer is on it's way, that means ours is pretty much gone. Even though we don't have to de-ice our windscreens, I still hate winter. But I guess I can't grizzle to much when our lowest temps are only -6 at night & 6 during the day....I guess it gets much colder there.
I do hope that something can be done to assist those people affected by the train fire. The consequences of Sept 11 have been far reaching, it is a shame that a countries economy has been dealt a heavy blow. Egypt relies on the tourist dollar/pound.
Keep up the good work,I usually drop in at least once a day.......I have to have my fix!
All the best.
