Hi,
I have read that it is hard to obtain a Visa for Libya in Australia. Can anyone advise me on what my options are. I am wanting to travel to the Middle East in Sept 2001 and want to include Libya.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mattie,
It isn't impossible to get a Libyan visa, just a bit long winded. All foreigners will need a visa to enter Libya and you must have it all sorted out before you're trip starts. Applications must be made well in advance as the process can take 4-6 weeks.
The first step in the visa application process is to obtain approval for your visa from the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tripoli. If you were to book one of our tours The Imaginative Traveller will arrange this. You are required to pass the following information on to your travel agent:
Name & Surname
Fathers Name
Sex
Religion
Marital Status
Date & Place of Birth
Nationality
Passport No.
Passport Date & Place of Issue
Occupation
