Hi,

I'm thinking of which camera lenses will be the best to take with me as I want to travel fairly light. As everything seems to be on such a big scale over there, will a 35m lens be wide enough or should i take something wider ?

Thanks

Richard

Re: Which lenses to take

Hi Richard,
Choosing the right lenses for a country like Egypt is tricky.

For the bustling markets something around 70/80mm is great. For the temples however you'll need a 28mm or even a 24mm.
In some temples you can stand far enough back to get a decent picture. In Karnak you'll find that anything less than 24mm will leave you frustrated.

If you do have to compromise and would like to take just one lens then I'd recommend a 28/70 or 35/80 zoom. Either of these will get you just about everything you need.
