Hello Jim & Kelly,
Just a quick post re average temperatures during December in Egypt. I am still hoping to make this return trip in December & was interested in what I might expect then as we will be in summer here. So I might be alittle chilly!!
I don't want to over pack either, so any info would be appreciated.
Don't tell me you've had a lovely sunny day in London today or I may cry as it has been very cold here recently.
As always, thanks for your help. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Re: Winter temps in Egypt
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for your post.
You don't need to feel envious of our British weather - the sun is barely peeking through the thick rain-clouds at the moment!!
In Egypt in December you can expect temperatures in the region of 10-20c (min-max) in Cairo, and a bit warmer in Luxor & Aswan. So it will be a bit cooler than the Australian summer! The BBC also has a good weather page with a Destination Finder for more information:

As for deciding what to pack when you're unsure of the weather, I would say it's a good idea to take plenty of thinner layers of clothing so it's easy to cool yourself off or warm yourself up without taking loads of bulky things.
I hope this helps, enjoy your planning,
Re: Winter temps in Egypt
Hello Kelly,
Thanks for the quick response. 20 c sounds ok, it will probably be in to 40's here when I leave & return, so there will be a bit of a shock to the body. I was worried it might get down to 10 or 12 during the day!! 20c I can cope with during the day & 10 at night will be a nice change to mid 20's or higher.
I hope you are getting some rain as we are in our 7th year of drought, with only enough rain to make things green & reservoirs across the country are down to almost nothing. We needed a flood year this year & with spring just around the corner I think we are running out of time. Oh well, we just have to be patient I guess.
I will just keep planning my trip & hope that nothing happens to change my plans as I really need an Egypt fix!!
Keep up the good work!
