Hello,
Curious to know if I have to register my Russian travel visa at the hotel upon my arrival? Or does the tour director look after this?
I've heard that this it is typical for hotels to hold onto the visa for awhile. How long do they hold onto it?
I've heard that I shouldn't walk around Russia without proper papers otherwise I could run into trouble with the police, etc.
Thanks

Re: Registering Travel Visa in Russia?
Hello
I have checked with our local Russian support team and they have confirmed that the hotel will ask for your passport for ten minutes or so in order to take certain details down. They will then hand it straight back to you.
Like any country you will need to carry your passport around with you, however none of us have ever seen or even heard of Russian police stopping individuals and asking to see a passport.
I hope this helps alleviate any worries that you may have.
