We will be on the Chinese Crackers tour departing 4th August and would like to hear more about the camel safari - particularly details of sleeping/bedding arrangemnets for the overnight camping. What will the temperature be overnight?
Any other tips for this tour would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Doreen

Re: Camel safari from Shapotou
Hi Doreen,
Thanks for your question.
You need to bring with you a sleeping sheet and a daypack for the camel safari but all other bedding will be provided. It is camping but it's not too 'rough' a lot of people really enjoy day 5 of this tour. In August the overnight temperature should not fall too low and it's unlikely that you will feel cold on this evening.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Brendan

Thank you very much.
Re: Camel safari from Shapotou
I know this is too late as we have just returned from the Chinese Crackers trip and you are there as I type! I was just wonderering, was Hanif your leader? I only ask as he left us very early on the last day to go and join his next group and we kept lauging at the thought of him climbing the wall again already. We had a fantastic trip and I'm sure you did too.
Re: Camel safari from Shapotou
Yes, we have just returned from our trip. It was great. Hanif was our tour leader and was a great guy. He did stay at the end while we walked on the wall - to check for stragglers was his excuse!! He was off for a well deserved week's holiday when he left us.
There was a mini Chinese Crackers tour running a day ahead of us - and they got one of the three days in the year that it rained in the desert for their camel safari. Luckily, it had stopped by the time we went and we really enjoyed it.
We are about to process our photos to relive the whole trip.
Glad you enjoyed it too!
