Hi, am looking at three options: Vietnam Discovery, Fabulous Thailand, and Sri Lanka Elephants and Buddhas for myself and two boys (10 and 11). Have found some feedback about Thailand but there is nothing on the forums about the other two trips. Was hoping someone could give impressions, feedback etc. on any of these holidays. We have done the Felucas and Pharoahs and it still remains our 'holiday of a lifetime'so there is a lot at stake to get this one right! Features we liked about the Im Trav trip was the great mix of families, the variety of travel modes and the opportunities to see the 'real' country and people but still have a very comfortable time. Hope someone can help, thanks Xanthe

Re: Help with xmas 06 choice
Hi
Try Thailand. The people are friendly. There is plenty to do. There is usually a good mix of families and my daughters aged 11 & 13 when we went in 2005 loved it.

Having just returned from Egypt/Jordan,I know that you've created a hard act to follow.
Since I've been to all of your possible destinations I'll give my personal 2 bobs worth.
Sri Lanka I visited after 2 weeks of semi independenttravel around Sth. India. I appreciated the peace of SL after the chaos of India. The big attraction of Sri Lanka was the fantastic people and scenery. sri Lanka has nothing really to compare with giza and luxor ( nearly everything has been destroyed and what is left is up 1000 steps).
I checked out the details of the Vietnam and Thailand tours. The Vietnam tour is more complete and I would recommend it if you only had the time of the tour. If you could find a couple more days in Bangkok ( BEFORE the tour starts) I would lean towards Thailand. It offers more activity wise (rafting and elephants) than Vietnam. Regards Wayne
