Were off in just over 2 weeks. (Pharaohs and Feluccas ) Decided to book extra days in the hotel in Cairo BUT have now been told that it doesn't have a pool. The trip dossier says the hotel has a pool. We'd really like some clarity on this as this will not be very good with 3 kids in tow. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks Brendon, looking forward to what ever info you can get us.
Re: Hotels in Cairo ? October 2004
Has there been any news about the pool? I'm arriving a day earlier and have been booked into the Santana Hotel as far as I know, what is the story?
I've told my son that every hotel will have a pool, as per the trip dossier, and its one of the things he is most excited about! And going down the road will not really be a good substitute.....
Re: Hotels in Cairo ? October 2004
We agree. Especially when there are 5 of us. What appears cheap times it by 5 and the cost goes up.
Then of course after last week in the Sini do any of us really want to go near any 5 star hotels?
We still havn't heard anything more on the pool issue. However the Santana does have a pool. It has a web site and we checked it out as we were told it was one of the hotels BUT we are not booked in it. SO at least your son can feel better.

Hi,
We do appreciate that if you are travelling with children and you are expecting the use of a swimming pool then it would be a big let-down not to get one.
Since we learned that the swimming pool at the Cairo hotel we would normally use for our family tours would out of service for groups travelling in October we have been trying to find an alternative. It's Ramadan in Egypt at the moment and this means it is even busier than usual. However I'm pleased to say that we have succeeded in finding you a terrific alternative hotel.
The groups commencing on 22 October and 23 October will both be staying at the Cataract Pyramids Resort. If you'd like to see what it is like go to www.cataracthotels.com
Enjoy Egypt
