Hi all! We're a family of two. My daughter and I are thinking about booking the P&F Tour that leaves on the 18th of March in 2005.
My daughter is 13, and I was wondering how she should dress. Also, what will the weather be like for the tour? Is it difficult to adapt to the climate? Is there any type of food we should avoid? Is anyone else booked for the same tour yet?

Re: Pharaohs and Feluccas (Questions)
Hi Del, we returned from this tour in October. I agree totally with Brendon. 1 of the young girls , 13 , on our tour did get a little scared by unwanted attention one day. We were in a bus and she was in no danger but a guy walked beside the bus giving her 'the eye'. She was wearing spaghetti strap tops but after that stuck to to shirts. I found the same. Cotton t shirts and 3/4 length trousers or longish skirt made not only for keeping cool but I also never felt uncomfortable.
You'll have a fantastic time, Iwould also recommend a good hat as the sun is really strong.

Re: Pharaohs and Feluccas (Questions)
Hi Del: You will like this tour very much, we took it in July of this year. It was terribly hot but not to worry, just carry two or more liters of water with you at all times, keep drinking, and you will be OK. Don't forget your hat and sunscreen.
Everyone else has said the correct thing about dress. Needless to say if she looks different from the locals, i.e. blonde haired, she will attract attention but nobody is going to touch her or grab her, esp. if you keep close by. (FYI, I was whistled at while walking around and looking, I look like the locals but I was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt and a long skirt, and I'm 45! go figure.) I was told by an Arabic-speaking Englishman that some of the bolder men or boys will yell out disrespectful things to young girls who aren't dressed properly so if possible please impress upon her the need to respect locals' sensibilities and not give them any reason to put her or you down. I'm sure she'll understand.
Have a great time, you will not regret taking the P and F tour. It will be a trip to remember for a lifetime.
