Good afternoon all
We are booked on the Pharaoh's Tracks tour in January. We want to do the Abu Simbel tour whilst in Aswan and would like to fly. Is it okay to wait until we arrive to book this or should we have our agent book it for us in advance given January is a busy time.
Feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers
Wayne

Re: Abu Simbel Flights
Hi Wayne
I did the nile valley and red sea tour with Imtrav last September and went to Abu Simbel via bus. It was much cheaper than by plane and left very early in the morning arriving at Abu Simbel about 7.30 am. This is great because of the extreme heat. We had about 2 hours there and then left to drive back to Aswan arriving around 1.00pm. I am sure that your tour guide will be able to arrange this for you on your free day in Aswan.
Re: Abu Simbel Flights
Hello Wayne,
Thank you for your post. The best way to ensure you will get seats on a flight to Abu Simbel is to book it in advance. As you are in Australia you will need to contact your agent who will be able to arrange this trip for you.
Have a great time!
Regards,
Kelly

Re: Abu Simbel Flights
Hi Wayne,
I've also done Abu Simbel by bus and it's definately the better way to do it. Even though the people who flew got to sleep in a few more hours than us, they were there during the hottest part of the day and most of them wished they'd taken the bus instead.
Even when we left Abu Simbel at 11.30 am, the sun was scorching and the people from the plane hadn't even arrived!
Hope you have as much fun as we had and if you get Lu as your tour leader, she's fantastic!!!
