Why is there inconsistency between the quoted cost of arrival and departure transfers in an individual trip description and then when they're offered as extras during the online booking process ? As an example, I have just booked South America Coast to Coast (LACO2), where the arrival transfer was quoted in the trip summary for £7pp and the departure transfer for £13pp. When it came to booking online (1 traveller), these had mysteriously risen to £16pp and £26pp...

Airport transfer prices

Many thanks for posting on the forum. I am very concerned to hear about the confusion surrounding the airport transfer prices for your booking. I'd like to offer the "behind the scenes" explanation for this as a little background for you and any other readers.
The prices displayed on the website are pulled from our live reservations system. The way our transfer prices are constructed is a "per person" rate for 2 or more people, so the cost of the car is shared. However, if someone is travelling on their own the whole transfer price has to be paid by that person (instead of it being shared with another person) and a supplement for a solo transfer is loaded on our system.
Unfortunately the website cannot at this stage pick out the single price for a transfer as it is attached to that supplement, so it is displaying a price "per person" for when there are two or more people on the transfer.
Please be assured we have flagged this to our technical web team as an absolutely crucial issue that MUST be resolved as soon as possible. It's important to our travellers (and our sales team here in the office!) that the prices displayed are accurate and can be quoted and relied upon.
I would like to apologise for the confusion that has been caused because of this and confirm that we are most definitely working on resolving the issue. We hope that our site will very soon be able to display a solo transfer price, as well as the price per person for two or more people.
I understand it is very frustrating to realise the price you thought was the correct price for you has been amended, but I do hope that this helps to explain the reasons it has happened. We are not in the habit of trying to "fib" about prices and we are working very hard to get this problem solved.
