It appears from the itinerary for day 3 of the Alexandria extension that the only thing happening is the trip back to Cairo by train. How long does the trip take, and what time does it arrive back in Cairo, or is there a choice of departure times?

Re: Alexandria Extension
Hello Tina,
The train departs Cairo at approx 8:30am and takes about 1 1/2 hrs. Return journey is usually the same.
The Alexandria Extension is available to those who wish to add it to their main tour.
Just a chance to visit and experience a little of Alexandria.
Here is the itinerary for you and as you see it is a little more than a train journey alone.
Day 1, CAIRO - ALEXANDRIA - Transfer to the railway station and board the first class train to the Mediterranean city of Alexandria. This afternoon we visit the Graeco Roman Museum, Pompey's Pillar, and the fascinating Roman Catacombs. (No meals)
Day 2, ALEXANDRIA - A full day at leisure in Alexandria. You may wish to take this opportunity to make a day trip to the WW2 memorials at El Alamein. Overnight in Alexandria. (B)
Day 3, ALEXANDRIA - CAIRO - Return by train to Cairo. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival. (B)
Day 4, CAIRO - Tour ends after breakfast. (B)
Cheers
Marty
