I was looking at Himalayan Frontiers starting March 23, 2008. On the websight it says "by request" only. Could you explain what that means exactly? We don't want to get stuck with just the two of us and a guide/driver. We are only interested in group travel. Also Tigers and tribals. Will that be a go in february? I am trying to put together three tours that we have not been, with as little time in between as possible and don't want to find out that a tour is cancelled after the airline tickets are bought etc. Also Sri Lanka is that tour still running? Thanks for your questions.
Himalayan Frontiers is a group tour with a maximum of 15 people and a tour leader just like all of our other Traveller tours. The reason it is on request is the flight back to Kolkata at the end of the tour - we can't have live availability for the tour since we have to physically check that the flight is available upon receipt of each booking form, hence it is 'on request'. On Request normally means the tour is available and we'll just double-check the flight before completing your booking as normal. Does that make sense?
Tigers and Tribals in February is still available to book and still scheduled to go ahead. It's not possible at this early stage to confirm whether or not minimum numbers will be achieved as there is still a long while to go but the tours at the end of this year are filling up so the signs are promising.
Our Sri Lanka Discovery tour is continuing to operate as scheduled with no plans at the moment to cancel any future tours. Again, it's difficult to predict the situation in 8 months time but there's reason why it won't be operating and it continues to be a popular tour.
