Hi,
I am thinking of doing the Nile Valley/Red Sea trip on my own. It sounds so interesting and with a good mix of things to do. As I am 40 (female) I was wondering what the average age is of the travellers on that tour. Is it usually a mix of all ages - or generally consists of the younger age group? Thanks for your help.

Re: Average age
Hello Ann,
When I travelled to Egypt 2 years ago with Im Trav, I too was travelling alone & had never been overseas before. I'm also in my 40's.
The tour group was a mixture of people in their 20's to people in their 70's. Believe it or not there were times when the older group members were the life of the party!
The bulk of my group were Australians. Aussie's seem to enjoy travelling to Egypt which I didn't know prior to my tour. Was great to meet people from "home".
Have a great time.........wish I could be there too
Re: Average age
Hi Ann,
The average age of the participants of our tours is generally 21-35 years. However, as Debbie says we do get travellers into their 60's and beyond. As a 40 year old you would have no problem either enjoying our tours or fitting in with our groups.
Please let me know if there's anything else.

Re: Average age
Hi Ann, I too was interested in the age group in the tour when I travelled with Im Trav last year, being closer to 50 than 40. At the beginning of the tour I was the oldest by a reasonable margin but at the end of the first week when a new group joined us, most of them were my age and older. However I had as much fun with the younger members and was termed an "honorary youngey"!
It is all about attitude. I think people who chose to travel in that part of the world have a common interest regardless of the age factor.
Just relax and enjoy, and accept that things will not be like home but that is why you are there!
A couple of the people in my age group did not appear to have recognised that fact, which was a pity.
I loved my tour and made some great friends.
Re: Average age
Thanks to everyone in answering my post. It's obvious that "a good attitude" is more important than the actual age. I will definitely bear that in mind!
