Having had a look at the group make up there is is a mixture of single travellers and people travelling in pairs and all predominately young.
I'm afraid I can't give specifics regarding the group due to data protection of passenger details.
You have choosen the right tour Clare for someone starting a much longer trip as this tour tends to attract like minded travellers, so it's a great way to meet new people who will be heading in a similar direction.
You don't have to carry your bags a great deal, as many of the hotels will have porters, there will be times when you'll have to carry it for a short distance, from a taxi to the train for example, so do make sure you can carry it.
