I am considering taking the Big Five Reserved trip September 5-20 and have a couple of questions. I am 62 and wonder if it is likely there will be others in my age group or are these trips geared to younger people. Also I have read that sometimes there are more vehicles on Safari than animals. Any comments on this would be appreciated as this is a trip of a life time and I want to do it right.
Thanks,
Peter

Big Five Reserved
Hello Peter,
Thank you for your posts. Big Five Reserved is a great trip and the places visited are all justifiably popular. Despite this, our tour leaders and guides will manage times and routes of game drives in order to not be right next to other safari vehicles. However if there is something very exciting to see, or something is happening, then you may well see other vehicles in the area at the same time as everyone wants to see these things.
I have had a look at bookings for this tour (plus "Kenya Highlights" and "Tanzania Untamed", as these make up the "Big Five Reserved" package) and most of the people already booked are a little younger than you. However please don't let this put you off - the trip is not strictly geared towards younger people although they are often attracted to it because of the value for money and the fact that they don't minding camping! If are active, able, and have a positive attitude towards participating in the camping and enjoying what the tour has to offer then there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't join.
One of the great things about joining a tour such as this is that you will get to meet and mix with people of all ages and backgrounds, and often this is what makes trips so memorable and special.
Best Regards
Kelly
