Hi there

In view of last night bombing at Mumbai - what is your view on the security situation in India, in particular in Northern India ? I am a little worried....should I be ? I am due to go for the North India highlights on 28 Sept 03.

Re: bombing in Mumbai

Hi Citygal

Thanks for your post.

As you mention, yesterday there were bomb blasts in Mumbai, which killed several people and caused considerable damage. It is unclear at this time who is responsible for these attacks.

The British Foreign Office advises that 'It is not yet known who was responsible for these blasts or what their motives are, but there is no reason to believe that the hotel or foreign nationals were a target.'

We take the safety of our clients extremely seriously, and are guided by Foreign Office advice when deciding whether to operate in a particular destination. They have not advised us to discontinue our trips in India, and we are continuing to run them as normal.

This seems at the moment to be just a random act of violence that could have happened anywhere, and we are confident of our travellers' safety in India.

I hope that this helps.
