hi,
im booked on to the sailtrek and sinai tour. because of flight availability im staying 1 night pre-tour and 2 nights after it finishes. what would you recommend me visiting or doing in the time i've got. i dont want to repeat things included in the tour. im a bit worried cos im on my own, but even after the tour has finishd, would I.T representatives still be able to help me.

Thanks for your post.
You'll find that before the tour, the hotel staff will be very helpful in arranging taxis etc for you, and helping you to get to places. And after the tour, you'll probably feel a lot more confident about wandering about in Cairo!
If you do need help, then our staff and representatives in Cairo are never too far away, and your tour leader will be able to advise you on all the best options. What you would enjoy visiting depends very much on you, but some personal favourites of mine are:
City of the Dead
Saqqara Step Pyramid
Coptic Cairo
None of these will be included in the tour, so you could spend your free time having a look at them. Check out the Cairo pages on the Lonely Plane website for some more ideas.
