Another Q from me..
I arrive on Thursday afternoon and start the tour "Felucca sailtrek" on Sat 18th july. How often does the City Starter run and where are the details (cost, itinerary etc). Is anyone out there been on it?
Thanks

ImTrav runs daily tours (or used to) for this tour (price - I can't remember) but we were lucky and did this tour at the end of our ETEG tour with the tour guide that we had for our whole trip. Your tour takes in the pyramids and the ride out to the pyramids is very interesting to see other parts of Cairo. Not sure if your tour takes in the Cairo Museum - this is a must see so if it doesn't you could make your way to the Museum and spend a good part of the day there. We found the taxi drivers seemed not to know their own city and this was frustrating -- couldn't even find a high end restaurant right on the Nile! Go figure..
I think we all enjoyed the "challenge" of crossing the streets in Cairo - no lights and lots of traffic so when the guide says "GO" - you go! The old city market was truly interesting -- we did the local market not the tourist market and were surrounding by locals buy any and everything from pots & pans to ladies lingerie. We able to watch people make musical instruments and furniture as well. Truly the biggest market I've seen all in one place.
I hope you find out the costs and take this adventure.
