Cairo Hotel near to metro?

Re your hotel for the Jewels of Egypt trip(13 Oct 2003).

Is this Cairo hotel we stay at within walking distance to the Metro?

Is it easy to use this system if wa only speak English?

Hi Terry,

Thanks for your post. The hotel we use for the Jewels of Egypt trip is the Salma hotel. This hotel isn't really near a Metro stop but you will be able to take taxis easily and cheaply if you need to go anywhere in the city.

The other 2 hotels in Cairo which we use for some of the other tours (the Santana hotel and the Indiana hotel) are close to Metro stops, and the Metro is generally clean, efficient and easy to use. All the tickets are around the same price and you should have no problems if you just use your common sense.
