Canadian Traveller's Cheques in Egypt

I am taking the Nile Safari in October and am
wondering if I have to take USD Traveller's
Cheques or will CAD be fine? Also are there ATM machines in Egypt and if there is, are they easy to find??

Hi Tracy,

I strongly suggest you bring USD traveller Cheques for your trip. USD,Sterling and DM's are the most common form of currency accepted in Egypt.

ATM machines are available in Cairo and usually work. Outside of Cairo they are not too common and when you do come across one there's a 50/50 chance of it being out of order. Please do not reply on your ATM card to get you through your trip as it is too risky, stick to TQ's.
