Hi Horrid,

Thanks for your question.

The tour on the 27th July has reached minimum numbers (4) and will be going ahead as scheduled.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Brendan

Re: carribean sailtrek

thank you for your response.
Unfortuneatlely, my flights have not been booked due to different online consultants giving me conflicting information:
I was originally told the flights needed to be paid by Monday the 7th, when i queried this as it was a bank holiday I was told the date was by miiday today, tues. I paid but when i phoned to check the payment had been recieved i was told the flights had gone...
... so it looks like i may not go !!!
I am not happy about this, 2 consultants are trying to find me alternative flights but if they are not successful I am thinking of registering a complaint. Can you advise on the procedure for this ?

Re: carribean sailtrek

Hi Cath,

I'm sorry to hear that your flights have not been booked. Unfortunately from time to time flights that are on hold for clients are suddenly released by the airline before notifying us and this leaves everybody in an unfortunate position, especially when we have already taken payment for them.

There are two consultants looking for alternative flights for you and they will be in touch later on today to let you know the alternatives that they have found.

Should you wish to complain about the way that we have handled your booking you can email me at online@imtrav.net and I will pass your comments on to our head of reservations.

I can only apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and hope we are able to find a suitable solution.

Regards,
Brendan

Thankyou
flights have been sorted so everything seems fine.
Regarding Guatemala: can you advise on the weather in August and are the safety issues as bad as it is mad out ?

Re: carribean sailtrek

Hi Cath,

Thanks for your questions.

I'm glad that your flights were taken care of for you; I understand that we were actually able to find you a better deal?

August in Guatemala is during the rainy season I'm afraid but that's not to say that you will encounter rain all the time. It's more likely to come in the form of the occasional downpour followed by blue sky again afterwards. The year-round average daytime temperature is 26 degrees to give you some idea.

And safetywise we simple wouldn't be operating there if there were any doubts over the safety of our groups or local staff so you can rest-assured that it is a safe place to visit.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Brendan
