cash to take Egypt

I am due to travel to Egypt in May and was looking for advice on what currency to take. Is it easier to take Egyption pound or USD?
Any other useful tips would also be appreciated, I am booked on the Nile Valley Red Sea trip

Hi! I don't really think it matters which one to take. All places took both USD and Pounds. But, I would try and change your money at the Sheraton before you travel around. It's just easier and more trustworthy. I changed a bit of money here, and then the rest of the time used my ATM card.
Also, when changing money ask for some small notes (1's, 10's and 20's)... very handy later on.
