Going on the Kingdoms of the Nile tour starting 12 Oct. What clothing is recommended for this time of year as not sure what temperature will be. Would it be alright to wear shorts during the day if it is hot.

Hi,
In October the temp will be hot by day Cairo - 26- 32c - Luxor 28 - 35c and warm in the evenings.
You should try to pack light cottons and maybe one cover for the evening time. Please remember that your clothes will reflect the amount of attention you get. Be understanding of local traditions and culture. Women should make an effort to cover their shoulders and shorts are Okay but knee length.
Your Tour Leader will at times ask you to cover up for a visit to a particular area, always follow his/her advice.
