I'm wondering from anybody who's been to Egypt, what's the best way to make phone calls from Egypt to the U.S. Do they sell phone cards over there? Or has anyone been able to buy a phone card in the U.S. that worked in Egypt?

I am from Australia, one of our local carriers (Vodaphone) also operates in Egypt, perhaps one of your local carriers will be the same, and then you would just be able to use your regular card?
I don't really know about phone companies in the U.S but all of my contacts were only charged local prices while i was charged around double, that being said my bill wasn't that big and i payed it once i was home anyway.

I'm also from Australia (but my phone is with Telstra). You can buy a local sim card & pay say 100 Egyptian pounds, which will give you quite a lot of call time if used wisely. Otherwise you can use the International phone booths (expensive) OR Just use your own mobile, but you have to have it set to International roaming before you leave home. This CAN work out to be quite expensive.
The cheapest way is to buy an Egyptian SIM card & use that.
